HEATHER LAY
OWNER / CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Hello! I am so happy that you chose our team to collaborate with you on your project! We are excited to get to know you, and help you with all the many (but fun!) decisions throughout the process!
A little bit about me:
I am a mother of 6. 4 boys and 2 girls. I have been married to my husband Brock for 15 years and we are always on the go! It’s a crazy but fun time in our lives with our kids, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
I have been working in the construction / design industry since March of 2016. I started Heather Lay Interiors in the summer of 2021 right after my twins were born. I wanted to create a space for women to be creative, learn in a positive work environment, and be part of a collaborative team.
We can’t wait to get to know you better, and walk you through the design phase of your project!
My current favorite design trend: I have always loved color, but I am happy to see it being used more frequently throughout peoples homes! RED is a favorite color that I am seeing used in interiors right now and I love it!
RACHAEL MILLER
CLIENT EXPERIENCE COORDINATOR / PROJECT MANAGER
Hi, I'm Rachael! I have an adoration for that cozy, charming, and classic feeling you get when a house becomes a home. I have a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from Oklahoma State University where I also studied Business Management and have studied Interior Design abroad in Paris, France. My past experiences urge me to blend the old with the new – I am an old soul at heart. I have a lifelong connection to design - with my parents being an architect and an architectural draftsman, I have a trained sense to notice unique features in the world around me. I married my best friend Chris in the spring of 2023, and we live in Edmond, OK with our sweet dog and 19 year old cat. Let's make it to 20 years, ha!
My current favorite design trend: Seeing all of the modern elements being added into more vintage and traditional designs! I am loving all the old and new coming together!
KATHERINE LOPER
ASSOCIATE DESIGNER / VIRTUAL DESIGN SPECIALIST
Hi, I’m Katherine! While I have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, I’ve always had a passion and eye for decorating. From new construction design to furnishings, I’ve now been in the interior design field for over 5 years. I love creating functional, cozy and inviting spaces for people! I currently live in Edmond with my husband, our three dogs, and a baby on the way! When I’m not at work, you can find me floral designing for a local wedding florist, traveling, listening to Taylor Swift, and antique shopping!
My current favorite design trend: Color and patterns!!! As we shift away from all the plain whites and grays, I love incorporating multiple colors, prints, and textures in to every space!
CECY CORNELISON
DESIGN ASSISTANT / STUDIO MANAGER
Hello! I'm Cecy! With Bachelor’s degrees in Interior Design and Business from the University of Central Oklahoma, I have a passion for creating timeless, classic, and slightly vintage-inspired designs that exude elegance and luxury. An old soul at heart, I’m drawn to high-quality pieces that tell a story and stand the test of time. When I’m not designing, you’ll find me outdoors, having a dance party with my two kids, or binge-watching reality TV with my husband! Life is all about balance and that’s exactly what I strive to bring into every project!
My current favorite design trend: I've really been loving elegant and timeless designs with real meaning lately - and yes, for me that means I would happily work in your grandma’s old chair or even the wallpaper from your childhood bedroom into your design!! If you're looking for a design that’s classic and a little nostalgic, I’d love to help bring your vision to life!
SARAH ELLIOTT
ASSOCIATE DESIGNER / TECHNICAL DESIGN SPECIALIST
Hi! I'm Sarah, an interior designer with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Specializing in 3D digital renderings, I bring imagination to life within interior spaces. When I'm not designing, I cherish moments with my German Shepherd, Rhea. Outside of work, you'll often find me hanging out with my boyfriend Devin and surrounded by family or enjoying the electric atmosphere of live concerts.
My current favorite design trend: I will never get tired of dark and moody rooms - especially home offices! But, I am also loving bright, colorful powder rooms!
